A very fine variety that produces large flowers of a beautiful purple colour.

A slowly spreading, mat-forming, evergreen perennial with small, hairy, sometimes serrated gray-green leaves. Four-petaled flowers appear in short spikes from mid-spring to early summer.

Grows best in well-drained soil in full sun, but also tolerates light shade. An ideal plant for dry areas such as chalky slopes and walls. Thanks to its frost resistance, it's also a useful potted plant for spring color.
